Supply High-Speed Internet Service to Historic Mountain View Inn |
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO September 30, 2003
Broadband Hospitality has signed an agreement to provide High-Speed Internet
Access (HSIA) to the historic Mountain View Inns 89 guestrooms and nine
meeting rooms. Broadband Hospitality, one of the hospitality industrys
fastest growing HSIA providers, will complete the installation at the Greensburg,
Pa.-based inn within the next month.
The other companies we looked at offered systems that were too expensive, Conte says. Also, with our previous provider, in order to cover costs we had to charge a $9.95 Internet connection fee in guestrooms. Our customers were hesitant to pay that. Broadband Hospitalitys solution will save us some money and enable us to offer HSIA to those same guests at no cost. We will, however, continue to charge for HSIA in meeting rooms. Ed Santor, national sales director for Broadband Hospitality, says Philadelphia-based Comcast Cable will provide the data line leading into the inn. Quality products, service make Broadband No. 1 Broadband Hospitality will install the necessary hardware to distribute the Internet signal to the guestrooms, meeting rooms and back-office area, Santor says. Broadband Hospitality will provide around-the-clock technology support for the inn and its guests. Our 24-hour service sets us apart from many of the companies in the high-speed Internet business. The Mountain View Inn, a member of Historic Hotels of America, intends to advertise its free HSIA amenity to its clientele which consists of 70 percent commercial business during the week and mostly leisure travelers on the weekend. Our competitors are adding HSIA as a free amenity, Conte says. The industry is heading that direction. I dont think you will see many hotels charging for it in the future. About the Mountain View Inn: Located in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania, the Mountain View Inn was built in 1924.
