 Michael Dominguez Joins Palm Springs Desert Resorts Convention and Visitors Authority as Vice President
of Sales and Marketing

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., July 17, 2003 - Michael Dominguez has joined the Palm Springs Desert Resorts Convention and Visitors Authority (CVA) as Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

A well-known figure in the Palm Springs Desert Resorts hospitality industry, Dominguez joins the CVA from Sunburst Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he served as Director of Sales & Marketing.  He has also served as Director of Sales for Palm Springs Riviera Resort & Racquet Club, and Director of Sales & Marketing for Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells, Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Austin, Texas, and Indian Wells Resort Hotel & Country Club.

"Michael has a proven track record of leading sales teams to their highest potential," said CVA President Michael E. Fife.  "His years of experience with meeting and convention sales in the Palm Springs Desert Resorts will greatly benefit not only the CVA but our member hotel properties.  We are very pleased to have Michael on board."

During his hospitality career, Dominguez has been recognized as Supplier of the Year by the Society of Government Meeting Professionals in Sacramento (2000); Manager of the Quarter by the Palm Springs Riviera Resort & Racquet Club (1998, 1995); Manager of the Year by Indian Wells Resort Hotel (1993); and Manager of the Quarter by Hyatt Regency Suites Palm Springs (1990).

As Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the CVA, Dominguez will oversee a staff of 16, including a regional director of sales in Washington, D.C., that sells the Palm Springs Desert Resorts to meeting planners on a local, regional, national and international basis.

The Palm Springs Desert Resorts Convention and Visitors Authority is a Joint Powers Authority that serves as a coordinating agency for sales, marketing and promotional efforts aimed at potential tourism, corporate, incentive and convention group markets.

The CVA is dedicated to a program of work to benefit and promote the hospitality industry in the member cities in Riverside County, which include Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage.
