Ms. Stanley-Vowels is responsible for the efficient and overall operation of the 175-room, full-service hotel located in the University Park area of Charlotte.  Ms. Stanley-Vowels reports to Mr. Gary Thirkell, President of Crown American Hotels and replaces Mr. Colin Crowe.  Mr. Crowe has been promoted to the General Manager position at the Holiday Inn in Rock Hill, South Carolina, which is also owned and operated by Crown American Hotels.

Ms. Stanley-Vowels has gained extensive experience having been in the hospitality industry for ten years.  Most recently, Ms. Stanley-Vowels was the Area Director of Operations and Sales for the Boykin Management Company. Previously, she was the General Manager of the Hampton Inn in Statesville, North Carolina.

Ms. Stanley-Vowels attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where she received a degree in Math and Chemistry Education.  She is continuing her education in Accounting and Business Administration at Garden Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.  She assumed her new position May 5, 2003.

Headquartered in Johnstown, PA, Crown American Hotels currently owns and operates 27 hotels in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.  All hotels are operated through franchise agreements with Intercontinental Group, Choice Hotels International, Marriott, Wyndham International, and Starwood.
