. Nations Largest 100% Wireless LAN Provider for Hospitality Industry Now Verified on Intel® Centrino Mobile Technology - |
Atlanta, GA, June 12 --
StayOnline, with the largest footprint of 100% wireless hotels in North
America, has been tested under Intel® Corporations Wireless Verification
Program (WVP). Intel debuted WVP in March with its new Intel® Centrino
mobile technology, which integrates wireless capability into a new generation
of mobile PCs that will bring business users and consumers greater freedom
to connect in new places and in new ways.
Along with the technology, Intel developed its Wireless Verification Program which includes engineering and testing of Intel Centrino mobile technology with various access point devices, software combinations, hotspot locations and wireless service providers such as StayOnline -- to verify they are compatible, further enhancing the Centrino user's wireless experience. This verification from Intel demonstrates our ability to deploy a robust and reliable wireless environment, said Antonio DiMilia, CEO of StayOnline. We are extremely pleased to work with Intel to highlight wireless services at StayOnline hotel locations. One of the latest hotels to install StayOnlines wireless access points and to reap the benefits of its Intel affiliation is the Hotel Biltmore near Intels corporate campus in Santa Clara, California. "That StayOnline has achieved Wireless Verification from Intel only proves that our strategy of going wireless for guest Internet access was the right decision, and that they are the right company to provide it, said Barbara Ratcliffe, General Manager of the Hotel Biltmore. Steven Nicholas, Vice President of the Noble Investment Group, agrees. We have called on StayOnline to provide wireless connectivity for several of our properties, he said. Now that they are Intel Centrino verified, we look forward to the additional brand distinction that offers to our guests. Were pleased to bring StayOnline and all of its customer hotels into our WVP program, said Don MacDonald, marketing director, Intel Mobile Platforms Group. StayOnlines expanding footprint of hotels offers its guests a truly unwired experience anywhere in the hotel. In addition, StayOnlines hotels will now prominently display the Intel Centrino logo which is a recognized symbol by all business travelers worldwide. Intel has created a standardized worldwide Wireless Identifier Program that includes signage to help users identify where they can connect wirelessly. The program informs users that a provider's network has been verified with Intel Centrino mobile technology. According to industry analyst firm IDC, there will be more than 118,000 hotspots worldwide by 2005. Hotspots are locations, including the growing number of hotels supported by StayOnlines wireless access, where users can connect to their laptops using 802.11 wireless technology.
