NEW ORLEANS June 24, 2003 Broadband
Hospitality, one of the lodging industrys fastest growing High-Speed Internet
Access (HSIA) providers, has signed an agreement with Boykin Lodging Company
(NYSE: BOY) to provide the Doubletree Hotel Boise Riversides 304 guestrooms
and meeting rooms with HSIA. Boykin Lodging Company, based in Cleveland,
Ohio, owns the property located alongside the Boise River in Boise, Idaho.
The hotel is operated by Boykin Management Company, also based in Cleveland,
Ohio.
Broadband Hospitality made the announcement today at HITEC, the annual Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference. We are excited that Boykin has once again selected Broadband Hospitality as its HSIA provider, says Vince Lucci, President of the Youngstown, Ohio-based HSIA company. Boykin shares our commitment to provide the most advanced and reliable technology in the hospitality industry. We back that commitment with around-the-clock tech support 365 days a year. Broadband Hospitality already has installed HSIA in 12 Boykin properties around the United States. Including the Doubletree Hotel Boise Riverside, four additional Boykin-owned hotels are under contract to have HSIA installed by Broadband Hospitality. They include hotels in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sacramento, California and Kansas City, Missouri. Technology Trend Drives New Business The signings demonstrate the strength of our business relationship, as well as the growing demand by travelers for HSIA, Lucci says. Both business and leisure travelers are asking for it. When people have access to HSIA at home, they expect the same on the road. In the current competitive economic environment, hotels have to have it. Broadband Hospitality now has more than 11,500 rooms
installed or under contract.
To help continue its rapid growth pace, Broadband Hospitality plans to hire four additional sales representatives in the next few months. The company is seeking candidates for positions in Detroit, Cincinnati, Tennessee and the Virginia/Carolinas region. Visit with a Broadband Hospitality representative at booth 127 at HITEC. About Broadband Hospitality:
In addition to providing HSIA solutions for guestrooms, business centers, kiosks and conference rooms, Broadband Hospitality offers print services (printing guest documents via the in-room Internet connection), e-commerce platforms for hotel chains, video on demand, videoconferencing and voice over IP. Broadband is currently testing all available wireless technologies to determine how best to provide wireless HSIA in hotel lobbies and conference centers. Areas where guests can use such service are called "hot spots." Broadband Hospitality offers a wide range of voice solutions, including local service. The company also is an authorized Mitel dealer that installs and services hotel phone systems. Because of its strategic partnerships with companies such as AT&T, Qwest Mitel and Tut Systems, Broadband Hospitality can offer its customers the best possible telecommunications and network solutions at the best possible price. Broadband Hospitality is the preferred HSIA vendor of the Ohio Hotel & Lodging Assn. At its convention in April, the OH&LA presented Broadband Hospitality with its Stars of the Industry Allied Member of the Year award.
