Suzanne Ng Named Spa Director at
Mandarin Oriental, New York

NEW YORK, April 17, 2003 � Suzanne Ng has been named spa director at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, New York.  Scheduled to open this fall, the luxury spa will be located on floor 36 of the 251-room hotel in the new AOL Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle.  The 14,500-square-foot oasis will offer a full line of highly personalized treatments derived from exotic Asian and Western therapies.

With more than 10 years of expertise in spa development, management, recruiting and operations, Ng is one of the pioneers in the development of the Asian spa industry and has launched spas in Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.  As spa director, Ng will oversee the entire spa development, operation and staff. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, New York will reflect the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group�s brandwide spa concept blending high style, quality and an �East Meets West� philosophy combined with exceptional treatments to inspire the mind, body and spirit. 

Most recently, Ng was managing director at Concept Asia Management Consultants, a leading Hong Kong-based spa management and consulting firm, specializing in market entry consulting for day, resort and medical spas.  During her tenure, she consulted for Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, and developed feasibility studies for its spa.  Previously, she headed the Corporate Human Resource Development Division of Raffles International Limited (RIL), owner of Raffles Hotels, Singapore, where she successfully led the company�s foray into the spa industry.

Before joining Raffles International, she was the general manager for Renewal Day Spa and Spa Management Consultants, two entrepreneurial spa management companies in Hong Kong and Singapore, and she consulted for several other spa and hospitality firms throughout Asia.

�She can undoubtedly ensure that we deliver a distinctive spa experience steeped in the traditions of the orient and prided on personalization and quality.�  Ng holds a degree in Economics and Psychology from the National University of Singapore and has a post-graduate Diploma in International Management from the prestigious European business school INSEAD in France.  She also has a Diploma in Management Consultancy and Change from the Poon Kam Kai Institute of Management at the University of Hong Kong.
