MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 4, 2003 � Hampton, the national brand of more
than 1,200 mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites®
hotels, today announced that it opened 10 Hampton hotels in March 2003,
representing 1,012 new rooms. Included are the openings of the brand�s
12th and 13th properties in Canada-- its second in Toronto and fourth in
British Columbia. The openings include six Hampton Inn hotels and
four Hampton Inn & Suites hotels, bringing the brand�s total number
of hotels to 1,222 hotels in the Hampton system.
�Our brand is continuing to expand its presence in international markets,
and that is especially true with current and future development of properties
in Canada,� said Phil Cordell, senior vice-president, Hampton brand management.
�We also continue to see growth of the Hampton product in small towns,
with the opening of another �small town� prototype in Springfield, Tennessee,
and continued growth out West.�
