Sunburst Hospitality Completes $6.5 million Renovation
on the Former Quality Hotel MainGate; Converts
Property to Clarion Anaheim Resort 
Silver Spring, MD � March 10, 2003 � Sunburst Hospitality announced today that the Clarion Anaheim Resort, located just 2 blocks south of Disneyland Park and adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, will open March 14. The 284 guestroom, full-service hotel, which is owned and operated by Sunburst Hospitality, formerly operated as the Quality Hotel MainGate.

The Clarion Anaheim Resort is set in the heart of Anaheim�s entertainment and convention center district which recently completed a $6.5 million renovation. The hotel features nine stories, extensive meeting facilities, two restaurants, a lounge, gift shop, outdoor heated swimming pool and deck and seasonal cabana bar. 

�The Clarion Anaheim Resort offers the Clarion brand's upgraded room amenities and top-line hotel features, with a great location close to all the Disney attractions at a very competitive price,� said Jim MacCutcheon, CEO of Sunburst. 

A seven-time Gold Award Winner, the Clarion Anaheim Resort guestrooms include one king or two doubles size beds, a remote-control cable television, hair dryer, tea/coffee maker, iron and ironing board, in-room safe, Nintendo, and data ports.  Studio suites have a refrigerator and microwave oven, two double beds or one king size bed and a sofa bed. Non-smoking rooms and rooms for individuals with disabilities are also available. 

�The property is perfectly positioned to serve both business and leisure travelers,� according to General Manager Jeff Heath. The property�s 7,000 square foot Conference Theatre can accommodate groups up to 500. A Clarion Class Biznet Business Center, with a computer, printer, fax and photocopy machines will be built in the near future. 

�This marks the first Clarion Hotel in Southern California�s burgeoning Orange County market. We believe travelers to Anaheim will benefit from this well-priced, upscale addition,� said Mr. MacCutcheon. �During the conversion, the hotel�s existing, highly trained staff has all been retained. We believe this will allow the property to continue to offer signature service and comfort.�
