 The 570 room Hilton Vienna Closing to Prepare
for a € 61 (euro) million Refurbishment
VIENNA, Austria (January 21, 2002) -- The Hilton Vienna is set to close its doors in February to prepare for a €61 (euro) million refurbishment, scheduled for completion in Spring 2004, making it the largest hotel and conference centre in Austria.

The renovation programme includes a total upgrading of all 570 guestrooms at the hotel and the addition of new conference and fitness facilities.

The newly built conference centre will offer an 800 sq metre multi-functional meeting room capable of holding up to 1000 delegates and 10 further meetings rooms from 60 � 440 square metres under the �Hilton Meetings� banner. 

A fully equipped fitness centre, day spa, restaurant and bar will add to the already existing facilities the hotel offers.

General Manager of the hotel Rico de Schepper, added: �The renovation of the hotel will place the Hilton Vienna at the top of the highly competitive congress and convention market in Vienna and further cement our place as the leading hotel in the country.�

Hilton International operate three further hotels in Austria � Hilton Vienna Plaza, Hilton Vienna Danube, Hilton Innsbruck.
