 Les Clefs d'Or Member, Nellie Salas Appointed Chief Concierge

NEW YORK, NY,  January 27, 2003 - The Doral Park Avenue Hotel announces the appointment of Nellie Salas as Chief Concierge.  Ms. Salas will be responsible for all areas of concierge service at the 188-room hotel, located in the historic Murray Hill district of Manhattan.  With over fifteen years of experience in New York City's hospitality industry, Ms. Salas brings an extensive network of contacts across all sectors of the city's rich cultural, retail, restaurant and nightlife scenes.  She specializes in servicing highly personalized requests, such as unique celebrations, special events, massage and beauty regiments, and hard-to-find gifts.  Ms. Salas is a member of the prestigious Les Clefs d'Or USA Ltd.

Prior to joining the Doral Park Avenue Hotel, Ms. Salas spent seven years as Senior Concierge at the  1400-room Waldorf Astoria in New York.  Before that, she was Concierge at the Drake Swissôtel, also in Manhattan, where, in addition to concierge services, she supervised the hotel's business conference center. 

Ms. Salas is the recipient of numerous awards ranging form the New York City Association of Hotel Concierge's 1999 "Concierge of the Year," sponsored by Where Magazine, as well as the 2001 "Best Concierge Service Team Hotel Experience Award" presented by IN New York Magazine.  She is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Italian and Portuguese. Ms. Salas is an active member of Les Clefs d'Or and regularly attends congresses around the globe. She is also a member of the New York City Association of Hotel Concierge and served on the board from 1997 to 1999.

The Doral Park Avenue Hotel is located in the heart of Midtown, at Park Avenue and 38th Street.  The neighborhood ambiance is reminiscent of a European boutique hotel and features 188 guest rooms and three penthouse suites.
