1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and corporate events for the likes of Chrysler, Mary Kay Cosmetics and the National Association of Program Television Executives. In July 1997, the National Association of Catering Executives awarded Chef O'Brien and his team the best overall catered event for 1997. Chef O'Brien created an extraordinary five-course meal for the Asia Pacific Exhibition and Convention Council's (APECC) "Farewell Dinner." This was a great honor, as it was the first time in history a convention center was given such an honor.

Chef O'Brien is excited about this new opportunity. "To run an inn has been a long-time dream of mine. To be given the opportunity to build on what The Inn at Langley already has is exhilarating," O'Brien said. Guests can still expect to see the five-course weekend suppers that have made The Inn at Langley famous, including being named as one of America's best 50 hotel restaurants by Food & Wine. "I am energized to get to work on a new, fresh and innovative menu."

An addition to the menu will be an Amuse Bouche course. This will be a bite-sized starter to tantalize the palate, and prepare the guest for the meal to come. Whether it is a fresh goat cheese, basil and organic tomato salad or Penn Cove Mussels Rockefeller it will be sure to please. "The Amuse Bouche will be designed to get the guest excited, it will be a sample of the freshest piece of the island on that particular day," said O'Brien, "it will be one savory taste of what's to come."

The Inn At Langley is located at 400 First Street in Langley, Washington and is built on a bluff overlooking Saratoga Passage of Puget Sound; whales can often be seen off the shores of Langley. All of the 26 guest rooms feature breathtaking 180-degree water views from private decks.
