The Georgian Terrace Hotel

The Georgian Terrace, a 325-guest-suite luxury hotel, is a signature property located on historic Peachtree Street in the fast growing Midtown district of Atlanta.  The hotel, which is accessible by rail from Hartsfield International Airport, is known throughout the South as Atlanta�s �Grande Dame,� due to its rich historical legacy.

The Georgian Terrace opened in 1911 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  It has hosted numerous dignitaries and celebrities throughout its celebrated history, including Presidents Calvin Coolidge and Warren G. Harding, Charles Lindbergh, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Tallulah Bankhead, Rudolph Valentino and opera great, Enrico Caruso. 

The hotel also hosted the gala reception for the premiere of Gone With The Wind. In attendance were Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Vivian Leigh, Sir Laurence Olivier, Olivia de Haviland, Claudette Colbert, Victor Fleming, Louis B. Mayer, David O. Selznick, and novelist Margaret Mitchell. 

An elegant French Renaissance-style building, the hotel features many outstanding architectural details, including turreted corners, floor-to-ceiling Palladian-style windows, wide wrap-around columned terraces, crystal chandeliers, white marble columns, elliptical staircases and Italian tiled floors. In 2001, the property completed a $10 million renovation program, which returned the hotel to its original early 20th century opulence and splendor.

The Georgian Terrace offers superb dining in two restaurants.  The Savoy Bar & Grill is situated in the hotel�s original lobby and serves American Continental Cuisine.  Al fresco dining is available on the elegant terrace.  The Basta Italian Restaurant offers guests a more casual dining experience. The property�s magnificent Grand Ballroom was the location of the gala reception celebrating Gone With The Wind�s premiere.  The Ponce de Leon Room, a more intimate ballroom, has been described as one of the most beautiful public rooms in Atlanta. 

The property�s luxurious accommodations include 325 renovated guest suites, with one, two and three bedrooms available.  The hotel also features a state-of-the-art, penthouse-level health club with magnificent views of the city and a dramatic rooftop pool and sundeck. 

The Georgian Terrace Hotel is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers.  It offers outstanding conference support services, a full-service Executive Business Center, and state-of-the-art meeting facilities.  A total of 16,000 square feet of meeting space is available, including the newly opened 6,000-square-foot Atlanta Conference Center, located on the ground floor, which provides six technologically advanced conference rooms.
