� Gordon Humbert has been named general manager of the 247-suite Doubletree
Guest Suites Downers Grove in Chicago�s suburban DuPage County. In
this position, he will be responsible for directing the day-to-day management
and operation of the only all-suite hotel in the Chicagoland metro area
to have met the stringent standards to earn the prestigious certification
of the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC). Humbert
most recently served as the resident manager of the Hilton Minneapolis.
With nearly 25 years of hospitality experience, Humbert began his career in 1978 at the Miyako Hotel in San Francisco, before joining Hilton in 1981 as convention service manager at the Hilton San Francisco. From there, he moved to Southern California in 1983 and held several managerial and director positions in both convention services and catering the Hilton Los Angeles Airport. Humbert moved to the Midwest in 1990 to accept the position of director of catering at one of Chicago�s most famed hotels -- The Palmer House Hilton. He moved to the Hilton Minneapolis in 1994 to bring his expertise to what has become one of Minneapolis-St. Paul�s premier convention hotels. Humbert earned an Associates Degree in Marketing from San Bernadino Valley College in California. His professional affiliations have included active membership in such associations as the International Special Events Society and Professional Convention Management Association. The Doubletree Guest Suites Downers Grove is regarded as one of the premier hotels for business, conference and leisure travel in DuPage County.
