Sunburst Hospitality Completes $2 million Renovation of the
Comfort Inn by the Bay; 30 Years of Continuous Operation
San Francisco, CA November 26, 2002 Sunburst Hospitality announced today that the Comfort Inn by the Bay, has completed a $2 million renovation and will celebrate 30 years of continuous operation on December 1, 2002.

This renovation ensures that guests are provided rooms in pristine condition despite the hotels calendar age, said Chad Olson, General Manager of the Comfort Inn by the Bay.  We are extremely proud of the hotels unique features, fine views and long service to the community. As a result, it is vital to us and to Sunburst Hospitality to keep the property at peak condition.

The hotel, which holds the prestigious designation as one of the Top 10 Hotels in the Choice Hotels International system, is located at the corner of Van Ness Avenue and Lombard Street. As a result of its premier location and height, the 11-story property is noted for stunning, panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, and Skyline.

The 138-guest room hotel is listed as highly recommended by San Francisco Travel.com as a result of its physical amenities, excellent location and service-first staff. The hotels executive and front-line teams have gained reputations for providing guests every possible comfort and service. This includes providing hotel guests with a free breakfast each morning, to airport transportation, city tours and insider dining recommendations and reservations. These elements and more have contributed to the propertys continued high occupancy during one of the citys most challenging lodging markets. Service, location and strong value compel guests to return to the hotel again and again according the Gary Hamel, Director of Sales for the property.

Frequently guests are surprised by the unique nature of views supplied by the guest rooms. They tell us we are the best value in the city of San Francisco. It is one of our aces in the hole that just after construction on the property was completed the city of San Francisco banned properties with more than 3 levels from the Marina and Wharf locales where we sit, said Mr. Hamel.

Situated overlooking the Bay and just 4 blocks from Ghiradelli Square and the citys famed cable cars, the Comfort Inn by the Bay is understandably popular with tourists. Property amenities include a free deluxe continental breakfast, touchtone telephones, satellite TV, in-room safes, coffee makers, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, pay movies and Nintendo; limited underground parking and concierge services.

In addition to serving as home base for business and leisure travelers, the hotel and its staff are integral parts of the community. In this holiday season, for instance, the hotel is contributing to a food drive campaign to benefit the San Francisco Food Bank. The drive involves both staff and guests in the thriving, diverse communities of San Franciscos Marina, Chinatown, Castro and Tenderloin neighborhoods.
