Jiri Kobos, Arif Hashmi and Alex Jovanovic Named
General Managers for Park Hyatt Hotels
Mr. Bernd Chorengel, president of Hyatt International Corporation, is pleased to announce the following general manager appointments. 

Recently appointed general manager of Park Hyatt Moscow is Jiri Kobos. Kobos gained management experience with Sun International, Thaba' Nchu Sun in South Africa and with Shangri-La in Hangzhou before joining CCA International Hong Kong Ltd. in 1988 as associate manager/general manager at the Pacific Club in Hong Kong. In 1992, Kobos transferred to CCA International Indonesia as regional manager/director resort projects, and four years later moved to Singapore to join Elite Concepts Asia where his last position was managing director-Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Kobos joined Hyatt International in January 2000 as general manager of the Hyatt Hotels Baku. 
 

Arif Hashmi was recently appointed general manager of both Park Hyatt Baku and Hyatt Regency Baku, Azerbaijan. Hashimi began his career with Hyatt first in the finance department of the Hyatt at Los Angeles Airport in 1988, where he held several accounting positions before transferring to Hyatt Regency Long Beach as assistant controller in 1990. Following another assignment at the Hyatt at Los Angeles Airport as assistant controller, he transferred to

Hyatt International as director of finance at Hyatt Regency Baku in 1995. He was subsequently appointed director of finance for Grand Hyatt Muscat, and in 2001 returned to Baku as manager for the Hyatt Hotels Baku.

Beginning September 14, Alex Jovanovic will be general manager of Hyatt Regency Saujana, Malaysia. Jovanovic joined Hyatt International in 1988 as assistant manager - front office for Hyatt Regency Adelaide, and in 1989 joined Hyatt Regency Coolum as a member of the pre-opening support team for five months.  Following further promotions in the rooms division in Adelaide, he was promoted to director of rooms for Hyatt Regency Coolum in 1992.  In 1994 Jovanovic was appointed executive assistant manager - rooms for Hyatt Regency Osaka, and in 1997 was promoted to his present position of resident manager for Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Alex replaces Lawrence Lau who will be retiring from the company.

There are 207 Hyatt Hotels and Resorts around the world, which are managed by two separate groups of companies.  Subsidiaries of Hyatt International Corporation operate 62 hotels and 22 resorts in 39 countries, with an additional 16 hotels under development.
