David Kong and Will Jansen Appointed to Vice President
Positions at Best Western International
PHOENIX, Sept. 26, 2002�Best Western, THE WORLD�S LARGEST HOTEL CHAIN® announced today that it has promoted two senior executives at its world headquarters.

David Kong has been named vice president of Operations and Strategic Services.  Formerly vice president of Strategic Services, Kong has been given the additional responsibility of member operations for the chain�s 2,300 hotels in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.   Prior to joining Best Western in June of 2001, Kong was with KPMG Consulting, and before that, he held several senior management positions in operations, sales and marketing with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Regent International and Hilton Hotels. 

Will Jansen, formerly vice president of Reservations - North America, has been named Vice President, Worldwide Reservations Services.  Jansen currently heads Best Western�s North American operations located in Phoenix and Glendale, Ariz. In his new role, he will also oversee Best Western�s international reservation system with call centers located in Milan, Dublin and Sydney.  Jansen joined Best Western in 1997 from Holiday Hospitality Corporation where he held management positions in reservations, human resources and hotel property operations.
