Accor Web Sites Exceed Two million Room Nights
Booked Since the Beginning of 2002
Paris - July 31, 2002 - At July 15, Accor had registered, more than two million room nights in the Group�s 3,700 hotels since the beginning of the year via its online, real-time hotel reservation service. This exceeds the results for full-year 2001 and confirms the reservation service�s position as Europe�s leading hotel website.

A room reserved every nine seconds

Since the beginning of the year, Accor has recorded 25 million visits to all its hotel websites, which include the accorhotels.com portal as well as the hotel brand sites: sofitel.com, novotel.com, mercure.com, suite-hotel.com, ibishotel.com, etaphotel.com, hotelformule1.com, motel6.com, redroof.com and thalassa.com. This represents an average of 120,000 visitors a day. 

Two million room nights were booked worldwide via the service, which amounts to one room night every nine seconds. 

Sustained development in first-half 2002

A large number of new online services were introduced in the first six months of 2002, including, for example: 

  • A new �Promotions� module featuring all the Group�s special leisure, weekend and short-stay offers.
  • �Compliments from Accor Hotels�, a dedicated loyalty program section, where visitors can subscribe to loyalty cards and check their points online.
  • A new worldwide service for confirming reservations via SMS on mobile phones (in France: Bouygues Telecom, Orange, SFR), for customers registered on Accorhotels.com.
  • A business section reserved for companies and travel agencies.
