Housing processes move online; members and staff may now seamlessly book reservations from desktop

QUINCY, Mass. - August 22, 2002 - Passkey, the meetings standard for group hospitality management and distribution, and The PGA of America have joined forces to provide its more than 27,000 member professionals with seamless booking capabilities for Association-related tours and events.

Founded in 1916, The PGA of America is the world's largest working sports organization and conducts four of the golf world's most popular events: the Ryder Cup Matches, the PGA Championship, the Senior PGA Championship and the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. Annually, more than 27,000 member staff and pros requiring multi-day stays for these events book hotel accommodations through the organization.

"Currently, our staff handles literally thousands of phone calls from members seeking hotel bookings and any follow-up modifications or cancellations," said PGA of America Special Events Director, Rebecca Gaither. "After due diligence, including asking others in the industry what system delivers the most flexibility and best customer service, Passkey clearly emerged as the leader. We are looking forward to their cutting-edge technology - saving our members both time and money."

With Passkey, PGA of America members now log onto a secure, customized, single-entry web page at their convenience and can search area hotels, book rooms, specify personal needs or preferences, as well as make any last minute changes. In addition to online reservations services, Passkey also provides PGA of America members with traditional booking methods including phone, fax and mail.

"We are honored to be working with The PGA of America," said Tim Durant, Executive Vice President of Passkey. "Given the scope and size of their events, the Association will be able to achieve significant efficiencies. Now, by bringing everything into a single source, The PGA of America team can know in real-time who has rooms, who needs rooms and where those rooms are available. It's not quite as satisfying as a hole-in-one, but it's very close."
