DALLAS, TX (August 14, 2002) Lexington Services, part of MyTravel,
one of the largest providers of global hotel reservations in the world,
announced today the expansion of their European presence by signing new
and extended representation contracts with six of New Hotels properties,
comprising more than 700 rooms throughout France.
Under the agreement, Lexington will provide centrally hosted reservations technology and support through its new SPIRIT hotel reservation system. This includes worldwide bookings by telephone through Lexingtons central reservations office; through the Global Distribution Systems (GDS); and via the Internet through Lexingtons extensive Online Distribution Network that includes Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Travelweb, and Priceline. "As New Hotels continues to expand its network of properties, it needed to strengthen its visibility among international travel agents and to build brand awareness worldwide, said Steven Bak, Director of Operations for New Hotels. After careful review of several reservation service providers, we selected Lexington Services for their highly integrated and cost effective solutions and their capability to help us capture bookings through the Internet, which is an important part of our worldwide marketing strategy." "The addition of New Hotels to Lexington Services client portfolio is an important move for us as we expand our presence in the European market," added Shawn Heaton, president of Lexington Services. Lexington appeals to hotels abroad because our Internet enabled capabilities are designed to make it easy for them to do business with us. We offer a personalized, seamless experience that is available in real-time, in any time zone, and we are continually developing new ways to communicate globally that ensure we can respond to our hotel members quickly and cost-effectively. As part of its new service offerings, Lexington is also providing New Hotels with an enhanced array of reporting capabilities and the ability to manage all of their information including property descriptions, rates and inventory in real-time via the Internet. The six hotels that have signed with Lexington include New Hotel La Baume, a 17th century architectural treasure in Nimes, New Hotel Europe in Rheims, New Hotel L Amirauté in Toulon, New Hotel Tour Blanche also in Toulon, and New Hotel Candide, Paris, France.
