Honorary Doctorates at Johnson & Wales |
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - May 24, 2002 - Four prominent leaders in the hospitality
world received honorary degrees during commencement exercises at Johnson
& Wales University�s five campuses.
A total of 7,240 students graduated from Johnson & Wales University�s campuses in Providence, R.I.; Charleston, S.C.; Norfolk, Va.; North Miami, Fla.; and Denver, Colo. At the Providence Campus:
Paul M. McManus, president and CEO of The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management degree. McManus joined The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd., whose five-star hotels include The Breakers in Palm Beach and The Plaza in New York City, in 1992 as vice president of marketing. In his current role as CEO, McManus has concentrated on transforming the organization from a typical hotel representation model to a prestigious luxury marketing business. At the Norfolk Campus:

The Hospitality College at Johnson & Wales boasts the largest enrollment nationally of students preparing for careers in international hotel and tourism management, hotel management, food and beverage management, sports/entertainment/event management and travel-tourism management. Students are currently enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in hospitality. |
