John Moser Named Chief Marketing Officer of
Manhattan East Suite Hotels; Will Lead
Branding Effort For 10 Hotels
NEW YORK - May 7, 2002 -- John Moser has been named the new Chief Marketing Officer of Manhattan East Suite Hotels, announced the company's Managing Director Laurence Denihan.

A 20-year veteran of the New York-based hospitality company, Moser most recently served as general manager of the company's luxury hotel The Benjamin, which opened in April 1999. Manhattan East Suite Hotels is a distinctive collection of ten luxury and business suite hotels.

"John has truly proven himself to be an innovator with an intuitive knack for marketing and building a brand," commented Denihan, in making the announcement. "We look forward to John's leadership in this key position to continue and expand upon the momentum Manhattan East has built to strengthen its brand and leadership role in the industry."

As chief marketing officer, Moser takes responsibility for all of the company's marketing, sales, advertising, public relations and growing Internet presence and strategy. In addition to leading a

marketing and sales team of 75, a key aspect of the position will be to work directly with the company's managing directors to help set branding growth and strategies.

Moser steps into his role following the departure of Robert Tully. Tully, who had spent 25 years with Manhattan East in numerous on-property and corporate positions, stepped down in April citing health reasons.

"Manhattan East has made enormous strides in becoming more of a marketing driven company in the past few years under the direction of Robert Tully," continued Denihan. "John's stewardship and vision in the development, opening and ongoing success of The Benjamin made him the natural choice to step into this position to help take the company to the next level."

"Robert Tully is a close friend and mentor to me and many of our 1,000 associates," said Moser. "He built one of the best marketing and sales teams in the industry and I look forward to working with them to continue to strengthen our brand and meet the continuing challenges of the market."

Moser's input was integral in the development of The Benjamin, a 209-room luxury hotel located in midtown Manhattan at East 50th Street and Lexington Avenue. Featuring Larry Forgione's An American Place and the Woodstock Spa & Wellness Center, the hotel was designed to ensure a combination of high quality personal service, upscale amenities, stylish surroundings and technical enhancements to enable both business and leisure guests to enjoy a productive and relaxing environment.

Prior to The Benjamin, Moser was general manager of the company's Dumont Plaza for eight years. Before that he was general manager at the Shelburne Murray Hill following positions at the Beekman Tower Hotel and the Surrey Hotel. A native New Yorker, Moser is 4 handicap golfer, playwright and competitive sailor. He currently lives in Manhattan with his wife and two sons.

Manhattan East Suite Hotels, a family-run business for 40 years, offers travelers spacious accommodations and outstanding value in Manhattan's most desirable East Side/Midtown neighborhoods. With ten hotels, over 2,000 rooms and 1,100 employees, Manhattan East is New York's largest all-suite hotel company.
