JOHNSTOWN, PA - April 4, 2002 - Crown American
Hotels is pleased to announce that Kim Painter has been named 2001 General
Manager of the Year. Ms. Painter is the General Manager at the company's
Four Points Sheraton located just off Route 30 on Sheraton Drive in Greensburg,
Pennsylvania. She has been employed at the Four Points for the past
fourteen years; Crown American Hotels purchased the
| property in 1999. This is the fifth year
that Crown American Hotels has made this recognition among its 27 General
Managers. Mr. Gary Thirkell, President of Crown American Hotels,
made the announcement at a regional meeting held March 26th at the company's
Holiday Inn Downtown in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Painter was recognized for achieving revenue
objectives and providing outstanding customer service and community service.
Ms. Painter and her team won the 2000 Pennsylvania Spirit of Hospitality
award from the PA Tourism and Lodging Association for community contribution
with their Parade of Trees event which annually raises funds for area hospitals.
This award helped to spring board them on to receive the American Hotel
& Lodging Association's 2001 National Excellence in Community Service

Ms. Amy Baumcratz Named 2001 Sales Person
of the Year
Ms. Baumcratz is the Director of Sales at the
company's Holiday Inn located at Route 68 & I-80 in Clarion, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Baumcratz was recognized for excellent performance,
attaining rooms revenue goals, effective operation of the sales office,
and exhibiting leadership skills. This award acknowledges her performance
while working as the Sales Manager at Crown American Hotels' Holiday Inn
in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Ms. Baumcratz was promoted to Director
of Sales at the Clarion Holiday Inn in December of 2001. |

As General Manager of the Year, Ms. Painter was
