The �Hot List,� compiled by travelers and travel writers, looks at great design, surpassing comfort, extraordinary service and the overall hospitality experience to determine their guide for the best new accommodations of that year. The 52 properties on this year�s list are all said to �possess that rare confluence of style and substance which defines an instant classic.� 

These considerations put two recently opened HBA projects on the 2002 Hot List. The Fullerton Hotel in Singapore, a landmark building that was transformed by HBA into an opulent hotel and is described as having a �cool contemporary style.�  Honors also go to the St. Regis Monarch Beach, a �deep-dish comfort� resort Dana Point, California, which opened in 2001 and is the first resort hotel for St. Regis.

HBA-designed hotels featured in previous �Hot Lists� include the Mandarin Oriental Miami, the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara; Jacir Palace Inter-Continental Hotel in Bethlehem and the St. Regis Beijing in 2001, the St. Regis Grand in Rome in 2000, the Leela Palace in Goa in 1999 and the Trump International Hotel and Tower in 1998.
