  Accor Names André Martinez Managing Director of Economy
Hotels and Christian Karaoglanian Named Managing
Director for Hotel Development

Paris, 14 January 2002._ André Martinez took over the function, on
1 January 2002, of Managing Director of Economy Hotels with Accor to replace Didier Gros who has decided to pursue other career opportunities. 

Christian Karaoglanian took over the function of Managing Director for Hotel Development on 1 January 2002. He replaces André Martinez.

André Martinez, who graduated from HEC (MBA) and the Paris Institut d�Etudes Politiques (Master in Politics and Economics), began his career at Airbus Industrie, as a negotiator for airplane contracts. In 1982, he entered Société des Hôtels Méridien and became President & CEO in 1989. He joined Accor in 1997 as President & CEO of Compagnie des Wagons-Lits. Meanwhile, André Martinez was appointed Chief Development and Strategy Officer of the Group in 1999. 

Christian Karaoglanian graduated in Economics (master) and from the Paris Institut d�Etudes Politiques. He was appointed as Sales Manager for Paris and the surrounding area for the Jacques Borel Company in 1976, and he joined the Development Division of Accor Hotels in 1984. Since 1997, Christian Karaoglanian had been Deputy Chief Development and Strategy Officer of the Group.

With 145,000 associates in 140 countries, Accor is the European leader and one of the world's largest groups in travel, tourism and corporate services.
