HubX Helps Integrate Ocean Properties' Legacy
Systems and Operations Functions

-
Newton MA (February 18, 2002) -- HubX has signed an agreement with Ocean Properties, manager of and investor in 80 properties in the US and Canada.

HubX is providing two key applications to enable Ocean Properties' growing e-commerce capabilities:

X-SITE a service that allows hotels and hotel companies to create and mange their web sites without the cost, effort or complexities normally associated with web designers, programmers and hosting facilities. An X-SITE option offers advanced web search engine optimization and web traffic reporting.
X-VIBE, which allows the hotels' property management systems to accept electronic reservations from Internet booking engines automatically.  X-VIBE links directly with the hotels' reservations system inventory to make it available for website bookings and then processes the bookings directly back to the reservations system without manual intervention of any kind.

"Web presence is something we need to have," said Tony Aslanian Director of Marketing and Technology, Ocean Properties. "When Ocean Properties spends money on systems like HubX  it is to give our independent properties the Internet advantage by integrating legacy systems and operations with emerging technology.  We want to make the property management system, customer service environment, Delphi [sales account management] and the website all talk to each other."

"The Internet is the great equalizer in terms of allowing hotels to compete by embracing eCommerce strategies," said Mike Murray, President of HubX in making the Ocean Properties announcement. "We constantly hear from companies that don't have the systems development manpower or financial resources of the big chains, who want to find companies like ours that can bring them the capabilities and ROI in months, not years. Ocean Properties is one of those companies learning from what others are doing, and going the next step with us to implement a solution that answers their specific needs."

Most of Ocean Properties' hotels are limited service, franchised properties; but in the last five years the company has been adding more independent full service hotels. "We will use technology to gain synergies to leverage the sales efforts, advertising, and operations for those hotels, in particular," Aslanian commented, noting that HubX has been extremely supportive in helping bring Ocean Properties up to speed, technologically.  "It's important to find technology company people, like HubX, who are consultative," he said. "We may have decades of hotel experience, but much of the technology space is new to us."

The HubX service platform is comprised of six core services designed specifically for lodging organizations. These modular services can be implemented singly or in any combination to provide clients with the orchestrated framework to manage their critical business needs through a single service resource.
