Regional Managing Director, Americas & Caribbean for Le Meridien Hotel Group |
December 3, 2001 - Le Meridien Hotel Group has appointed Karyn Marasco
Regional Managing Director, Americas & Caribbean, according to Richard
Mahoney, Chief Operating Officer. Marasco will supervise and oversee the
operations of Le Meridien's owned and managed hotels in the United States,
Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. She will be based at the company's
New York regional office.
Since 1997, Marasco has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlanta-based Lodgian, Inc., a publicly traded owner of over 100, multi-brand hotels in the United States. Previously, she spent 18 years in various managerial and senior level operations positions with Westin Hotels & Resorts, most recently as area general manager for six hotels in the Midwest (Chicago) region of the U.S. Other positions with Westin included posts in New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Pittsburgh. "Karen's exceptional leadership skills and extensive knowledge of U.S. hotel markets brings a great deal to Le Meridien," said Mahoney. "She has remarkable focus and an unmatched ability to combine high financial performance with solid guest and employee satisfaction results. We are thrilled to have her on the Meridien team."
