Guest-Tek, One of the First to Move Away from the Unsuccessful Revenue-share Model, Named Preferred In - Room Internet
Provider by Hyatt Hotels

;

CHICAGO - Aug. 28, 2001--Hyatt Hotels Corporation has named Guest-Tek its preferred provider of high-speed Internet access for its 122 hotels and more than 58,000 guest rooms across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

The key factor in Hyatt's selection was Guest-Tek's proven record. Robert Bansfield, assistant vice president of MIS at Hyatt, says testing was critical to ensuring Hyatt could provide its guests with the most reliable product on the market.

"Guest-Tek's high-speed Internet access offered the best combination of technology, reliability, and technical support, which has been pivotal in the company having the highest successful connectivity rate in the industry," says Bansfield. Guest-Tek's technology has a 97% success rate in helping guests connect successfully to the Internet.

Guest-Tek founder and executive vice president Arnon Levy says the Hyatt decision demonstrates what many have known for some time: While Guest-Tek may not be the most widely known name in the industry, the company's superior turnkey solution is quickly changing that. "We continually receive feedback from guests and hotels commenting on how quick and easy it is for them to access the Internet, and anyone using our 24/7 Professional Call Center is impressed with the excellent customer service provided."

Arnon adds he expects Guest-Tek's name recognition will increase dramatically through the Hyatt decision.

Guest-Tek's high-speed Internet access is already in use at the Park Hyatt Chicago, Elliot Grand Hyatt Seattle and Hyatt Regency Calgary, where the solution has been in place for the past several months.

The decision to choose Guest-Tek followed a comprehensive RFP process that revealed Guest-Tek had the most sound business model in the industry. "Guest-Tek was one of the first companies to move away from the unsuccessful revenue-share model to one that ensures hotels have complete control in deciding how they choose to offer high-speed Internet access to their guests," says Bansfield.

Guest-Tek delivers broadband visitor-based networking (VBN) solutions to businesses serving mobile users. Our products provide fast and easy plug-and-play Internet access to end users.

There are 203 Hyatt hotels and resorts around the world. Hyatt Hotels Corporation operates 122 hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Hyatt International, through its subsidiaries, operates 81 hotels and resorts in 38 countries. In the U.S.
