 Mark Ozawa Named Vice President - SOLVE; 
Will Lead SWAN�s Application Service Provider Network


 
Denver, Colo.�June 20, 2001�To lead SWAN�s Application Service Provider network, scheduled to debut fourth quarter 2001, Scott W. Anderson, SWAN president and c.e.o., named Mark Ozawa, Vice President - SOLVE.

�SOLVE represents a vital part of SWAN,� Anderson said. �We are committed to helping hotel companies leverage today�s Web-enabled software solutions while substantially reducing operating costs and weaving a world of new business opportunities. The hotel technology and operations experience of Mark Ozawa is the ideal foundation on which to build the technology tools we will be deploying through SOLVE, including systems for property management, point of sale, preventative maintenance, human resources, online training, sales and catering and yield management.�  

�I look forward to leading the SOLVE effort to create the first hospitality ASP that will provide a portfolio of best-of-breed applications to hotels,� Ozawa said. �There is great interest in the ASP model among hotels today.  What will differentiate SOLVE is its diverse, cost-effective portfolio of products from leading solution providers.�  

Ozawa said he was intrigued by the combination of businesses under the SWAN umbrella, and felt the synergistic potential was tremendous.

�Mark Ozawa is an experienced hospitality professional with proven success achieving company-leading customer satisfaction levels and significant profitability  increases,� said Rick Layton, SWAN executive vice president. �Mark led business units with up to $30 million in revenues and 500 employees. His strengths include establishment and implementation of project methodologies, marketing and communication programs, and operating standards and practices that support business objectives.�

On Ozawa

Prior to joining SWAN, Ozawa ran HSP Consulting in Salt Lake City, Utah, an independent consulting practice focused on the identification of appropriate hospitality system solutions, system implementation planning and project management. He managed multiple clients in the areas of reservation distribution, property management, yield management and sales and catering systems since 1998.  

Ozawa also held various positions with Westin Hotels and Resorts over an eighteen-year period, including Support and Implementation Manager, Business Solutions Manager, Operations Manager, Manager of Technical Systems, Front Office Operations Manager and Senior Assistant Manager.

Headquartered in Denver, SWAN Inc. has approximately 2,000 employees and will operate initially in the United States. Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc, a U.K.-based company, is an investor in SWAN. Hong Kong-based City e-Solutions Limited (CES) is majority owner
