David Hill Name General Manager and Rick Reed Named 
Director of Sales at Hotel Derek in Houston; 
Scheduled to Open Fall 2001

HOUSTON, May 29, 2001� One of Houston�s newest additions to the hotel scene, Hotel Derek, has appointed both a general manager and director of sales and marketing.  

David Hill will serve as general manager.  Most recently, Hill was General Manager of Hotel George in Washington, D.C., the property that offers guests a neo-modern alternative to Washington�s traditional hotels.  Hill�s additional experience includes supervisory and management level positions at hotels including the Madison Hotel in Washington, Nova Park Hotel Elysee in Paris, France and the Royal St. Lucian Hotel in St. Lucia, West Indies. 
 
Rick Reed, a recognized name in Houston�s hotel industry, will serve as director of sales and marketing.  Reed knows the Houston market well due to extensive experience in several of Houston�s most upscale and prestigious hotels, resort and conference centers, including positions as the director of sales and marketing for the Sheraton Suites Houston near the Galleria, San Luis Resort and Conference Center, Galveston Island and The Ritz-Carlton Houston.  
 
Hotel Derek lies adjacent to the upscale neighborhoods of River Oaks, Tanglewood and the trendy Uptown area that will spark all of the energy the city has to offer. Hotel Derek will include 312 guest rooms, including ten generous
suites that will offer both substance and style.  The crisp, tailored look and custom designed furnishings will cater to both the business executive and the stylish shopper.  Hotel Derek will offer extensive event and meeting room
space, including two permanent boardrooms, meeting rooms and the chicest ballroom in the city. 
 
A Fall, 2001 opening is planned.
