April 10, 2001 - The Master of Hospitality Management
OnLine (M.H.M.) studies, Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant
Management, University of Houston, will offer two new courses in the May
1, 2001 trimester.
Hospitality Finance will be taught by Dr. Agnes
DeFranco, and a course in Hospitality Research will be taught
by Dr. Frank Borsenik. Both teachers are recognized and published authors
in hospitality management.
The September 1, 2001 semester offers Travel and
Tourism with Dr. Morgan Geddes, and Hospitality Law with Anthony Cabot,
internationally recognized lawyer and author.
The
OnLine Master�s program provides an opportunity for managers working in
various sectors of the hospitality industry to earn a Master of Hospitality
Management degree, entirely online, from one of the world�s most respected
hospitality management programs. Participants can learn from any location
on the globe from the comfort of their office or home, no residence on
campus is required.
Participants generally take two courses per trimester,
and complete the requirements for the Master of Hospitality Management
in two years, while continuing to work at their full-time jobs. The
OnLine program is specifically designed for hospitality industry managers
and professional who want to improve their knowledge and ability to mange
in the hospitality industry. An earned bachelor�s degree in hospitality
management or related field is required.
The OnLine program covers essential areas of management
through the study of core subjects and electives with special areas of
emphasis; food and beverage, lodging, tourism, clubs, conventions, catering
and other areas of interest. The only difference between the OnLine program
and the traditional program is the method of delivery.
The Conrad N. Hilton College is one of the fourteen
colleges of the University of Houston�s main campus and is regarded as
one of the top programs for hospitality management in the world. The University
