Shulas Steak Houses; Creating Dining Destination for Local Residents
MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - Jan. 23, 2001 - Legendary Coach Don Shula, the winningest Coach in history, with son Dave Shula and Wyndham International, Inc. announce the opening of six new Shulas restaurants during first quarter 2001. By March, Shulas Steak Houses will have 23 locations making them one
of the top five steak houses in America. Created in 1989, Shulas has established
a strong reputation for itself as One of the Best Steak Houses in America.
In 1997, Shulas joined Wyndham in the introduction of the Shulas Steak House concept in four Wyndham-owned properties including: Wyndham Westshore in Tampa, Fla., the Troy Marriott in Detroit, Mich., the Cleveland Hilton South in Ohio, and the Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor in Md. We are excited to continue offering our patrons the Shulas experience within our hotels, said Fred J. Kleisner, chairman and chief executive officer of Wyndham International. Each of these restaurants will serve business, conference and leisure travelers as well as create an exciting dining destination for local residents. An upscale steak house, like Shulas, is the perfect compliment to our brand and our hotel properties. Shulas Steak Houses encompass three proprietary restaurant concepts beginning with Shulas Steak House, a nationally recognized, upscale dining establishment, Shulas On the Beach, offering guests the same quality of Certified Angus Beef with more seafood selections, and ShulaSteak 2, a casual steak sports themed restaurant. Wyndham International, Inc. offers upscale and luxury hotel and resort accommodations through proprietary lodging brands and a management services division. Based in Dallas, Wyndham International owns, leases, manages and franchises hotels and resorts in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe.
