GLEN ALLEN, Va. and MCLEAN, Va. – Historic Virginia charm and colonial architecture make their debut today as part of Hilton's newest collection brand, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center becomes the second property to join the collection of independent upscale hotels each with a unique identity.

"Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center truly reflects our dedication to handpicking hotels that provide travelers the best of both worlds – original hotels with the world renowned hospitality of Hilton and our Hilton Honors program," said Mark Nogal, global head, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. "An intimate and spacious retreat for both business and leisure travelers, Virginia Crossings honors the region's heritage while also offering everything savvy, modern travelers appreciate."

Featuring 183 spacious rooms and suites with more than 28,000 square feet of flexible event space boasting natural lighting, the southern-style estate includes a variety of gardens, courtyards and is next to the Crossings Golf Course – an 18-hole masterpiece designed by prolific golf course architect Joe Lee. Other recreation highlights include a large state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center, a sand volleyball court, a large outdoor swimming pool and activities such as basketball and horseshoes. For guests wanting to unwind with a good view or host a memorable private event, an expansive outdoor terrace overlooking the pool features beautiful views of the surrounding area. A ballroom that seats up to 400 is also available.

Just as memorable as the event space and wide variety of recreation choices is the hotel's food and beverage offerings at two regionally infused, distinctive restaurants:

  • The Tavern touts Southern-style food in a relaxed and casual environment and offers everything from Shrimp & Grits to Virginia Smoked Sausage to Kettle Chip-Crusted Fried Chicken. For those looking for something on the lighter side, fresh salads and fish dishes are also Tavern Bistro specialties.
  • The Glen Restaurant features an expansive brick wood-burning fireplace as the perfect backdrop for guests to enjoy seasonal buffet-style dishes made with local and regional ingredients, complete with handcrafted cocktails and a variety of local craft beers and wine. Those dining here – enjoying everything from roasted seasonal veggies to steak and fresh seafood dishes – sit amid historical artifacts and art that tell the rich history of the Richmond area.

"From our two great restaurants to the hotel's location within minutes of top attractions that include Kings Dominion amusement park and Richmond Raceway, we appeal to a broad base of travelers seeking memorable experiences while being backed by one of the world's leading hospitality companies," said Wende Blumberg, general manager, Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center. "By joining Tapestry Collection by Hilton, we are grateful to be a part of this growing upscale collection brand that offers us the freedom to keep our independent spirit while also tapping into the award-winning Hilton Honors program."

To celebrate the addition of Virginia Crossings to the collection, as part of Tapestry Collection's Youth Service America #LeadASAP Spark the Arts program launched earlier this year, the grant application for youth ages 12-25 in the Richmond-area is now open.
