COSTA MESA, CA, May 26, 2015 – Accomplished hotel sales and marketing professional Trine Ackelman has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at The Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California.

She comes to The Westin after serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing at the St. Regis New York. Her other hotel leaderships roles include serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Omni Berkshire Place, New York; the Complex Director of Group Sales for W Hotels of New York; and the Director of Sales for the Palace Hotel, Luxury Collection, San Francisco.

Among her professional accolades, she was named a “Rising Star” by the San Francisco Hotel Council for 2004, “Sales Leader of the Year” and a member of the “Sales Team of the Year” by Starwood for 2007, and “PR Newcomer of the Year” and “Sales Leader of the Year” for Omni Hotels and Resorts in 2011. She served as Co-President – SITE New York Metro for 2008-2010, and Director of CSR – SITE New York Metro for 2010-2013. While in New York, she volunteered as a Team Leader for nonprofit New York Cares.

Ackelman earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Public Relations, Magna Cum Laude, at Hawaii Pacific University. Les Roches Hotel Management School in Switzerland awarded her a Diploma with Silver Honors in Hotel Management. While in hotel management school, she served internships in Dubai and Zurich. Born in Denmark, she is fluent in Swedish, English, Danish and German, and also has limited proficiency in French.
