PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Jan. 26, 2015) StepStone Hospitality today announced it has been retained by Stratford Hospitality to manage the Sheraton DFW Airport.

“We are pleased to have the Sheraton DFW Airport join the StepStone family,” said Thomas Russo, chief executive officer, StepStone Hospitality. “We look forward to working with the hotel team to maximize the value of the investment, while providing first-rate service and accommodations to our guests.”

The Sheraton DFW Airport Hotel is located in the nerve center of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, just minutes from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Hotel guests enjoy complimentary shuttle service to and from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, making it an ideal location for business and leisure travelers. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has one of the largest concentrations of corporate headquarters for publicly traded companies in the country. The region is home to at least 20 Fortune 500 companies.

“With the area having a high number of Fortune 500 companies and being home to the fourth busiest airport in the country and the ninth busiest airport in the world, it’s a market we are excited to expand into and we look forward to playing a key role in the success of this hotel as well as doing our part to enhance the local business climate,” added Blair Wills, StepStone’s president and chief operating officer.

The hotel is undergoing a comprehensive renovation that will overhaul and update many aspects of the property. Over the last six months, the hotel’s 302 guest rooms were updated and now feature the signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper® Bed, an LCD television, work desk with ergonomic chair and upgraded wireless Internet access.

The changes are part of a $7 million transformation that began in June 2014. Further upgrades are continuing through January 2015 including the addition of a spectacular lobby lounge, the introduction of the brand’s new Link@Sheraton business center powered by Microsoft® and a renovation to the hotel conference center. The hotel’s conference center has 23 meeting and banquet rooms, including two ballrooms that can accommodate up to a 1,000 guests for business and social events.

In addition to room service, dining options include the One 14 Restaurant, a three-meal restaurant specializing in regional American cuisine.

Additional amenities include a heated outdoor pool and the 1,500 sq. ft. CORE Fitness Center. Nearby Texas-style attractions include the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park; Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, the largest water park in the Southwest; and the Texas Motor Speedway. The 1.1 million-square-foot outlet mall, Grapevine Mills Mall, is just five minutes away.
