The Splendid Hospitality Group has acquired its first property in the South West – the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel.

Stuart Bailey, CEO for Splendid Hospitality says: “We are excited to make our mark in Bristol with the purchase of the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel, especially given its unbeatable historic waterfront location. The hotel will continue trading as a Mercure under a franchise agreement with Accor. This is our first property with Accor and we look forward to a strong and successful partnership with them.”

Will Duffey, Executive Vice President in JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality group noted: “The sale of the Mercure Brigstow represents an excellent opportunity for Splendid Hospitality Group to leverage the flexibility of a franchise and enhance an already strong asset in one of the UK’s keystone markets. The quality of the real estate helped elicit encouraging interest from regional and international investors throughout our disposal process.”

Located in the heart of Bristol’s Old City, the hotel is right by the waterside and within easy walking distance of the prime cultural, business and shopping districts, making it an ideal base for both business and leisure travellers. The Mercure Bristol Brigstow includes 116 uniquely designed contemporary guest rooms and the Ellipse restaurant which offers regional gourmet cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere with views over the river.

There are four versatile and modern function rooms each boasting panoramic, unobstructed views of the river. These can accommodate up to 85 delegates for meetings and 100 for receptions and social gatherings.

The expanding Splendid Hospitality Group portfolio now has 19 hotels and this acquisition follows the recent purchase of the New Ellington Hotel in Leeds. The Mercure Bristol Brigstow joins the group’s other city centre hotels in London, Oxford, Edinburgh, York and Leeds. In London they own and manage two prestigious hotels; the Conrad London St James and the newly opened Hilton London Bankside.
