New York – 8 March 2017: Local Measure, the leading location-based social platform for hotels and the tourism industry, has opened an office in Los Angeles and appointed Kristen Hall as Head of Business Development, West.

With existing offices in Sydney, Singapore, London, Dubai and Miami, the expansion represents the importance of the American tourism market for this relatively young Australian company. Local Measure recently raised $3.4M USD to help scale its business, and has won numerous accolades including the Phocuswright innovator of the year award.

Local Measure’s CEO and Founder, Jonathan Barouch, said, "Understanding customer preferences is fundamental to delivering the personalised experience that drives real loyalty and results in outstanding reviews. As the U.S. tourism industry continues to invest in class leading service standards and guest experience, we find a growing demand for tools that can provide the data and insights required to help hotels deliver exceptional experiences to every guest. Kristen will be integral to helping us grow our relationships across the West Coast."

Kristen Hall makes the move to Los Angeles from New York where she was Director of Brand Strategy at Olapic for the past four years, helping the company expand its portfolio of clients and launch leading technology solutions. Kristen was named to PhocusWright’s Class of 35, which recognizes the travel industry’s top 35 young leaders under the age of 35. She brings a deep understanding tourism marketing and the ability to capitalise on brands’ growing demand for user generated content.

Hall said, “Hotels recognise that the during-stay experience is critical to loyalty and Local Measure’s platform is uniquely positioned to help businesses deliver on that. It provides guest insights into the hands of front-line teams, empowering them to personalise each guest’s experience. I’m very much looking forward to joining Local Measure at this exciting moment in the company’s growth.”
