Sea Island, Georgia (July 11, 2016): Following the recent announcement that the Sea Island Company has been acquired by the Anschutz family and that Sea Island is now part of The Broadmoor – Sea Island Company, Steve Bartolin, President of the newly formed company, announced today that Scott Steilen, President of Sea Island, has added CEO to his title.

“Scott Steilen has served as the President of Sea Island for the past five years and, in my estimation, he has done a remarkable job stabilizing and guiding this legendary resort,” said Bartolin. “Scott has returned it to profitability, and I realize how important that is to ensure continuing stability for Sea Island’s members, its staff and the overall economic benefit for the community. I have been very impressed with the energy and passion Scott brings to this job. His appointment as CEO is a vote of confidence by the Anschutz family and the newly formed Broadmoor-Sea Island Company.”

Steilen joined Sea Island in 2011 after spending 10 years as a Principal of Warnick + Company, a strategic advisory firm to hospitality industry clients worldwide. Prior to Warnick + Company, he spent nearly 10 years with Ernst & Young as the Central Region Practice Director for E&Y’s Hospitality Services Group. Steilen grew up in the business as an hotelier’s son, and is a graduate of Michigan State University’s Hospitality Business School.
