BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS (May 4, 2016) – Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, BVI recently appointed Nancy Williams as director of sales for the luxury private island resort, the first member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection in the Caribbean. Williams brings more than 25 years of success in domestic and international hospitality markets to the position, with specialization in offshore Caribbean resorts.

“We’re happy to welcome Nancy to Scrub Island Resort and are confident she’ll be an asset to the team,” said Federico Ciampi, resort manager for Scrub Island. “As a very motivated industry veteran with extensive experience in leisure, group, wholesale and corporate hotel sales, Nancy will have an immediate impact on our sales efforts.”

Prior to joining Scrub Island Resort, Williams was director of sales and marketing at Renaissance St. Croix Carambola Beach Resort & Spa, where she was responsible for driving revenue and managing group and corporate market segments. Williams also prepared and managed wholesale agreements for more than 30 domestic and international accounts. Williams’ other experience includes time as director of sales and marketing for Windward Passage Hotel in St. Thomas, Bimini Bay Resort & Marina in the Bahamas and Cendant Corporation in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In each instance, Williams was responsible for driving revenue across leisure, corporate, wholesale and group market segments.

Williams has also held positions as senior sales manager at Grand Lucayan Beach & Golf Resort in Grand Bahama Island, national sales manager at Atlantis Paradise Island and the Ocean Club in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and manager of leisure sales at Old Bahama Bay in Grand Bahama Island. Williams has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and public health from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
