BROOKLYN – September 25, 2015 – Real Hospitality Group (RHG) is pleased to announce the official opening of The Brooklyn A Hotel. Designed by Espacio Design Studios, the 34-key boutique property is situated on a bustling stretch between Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant, two of the city’s most creative emerging neighborhoods.

“Brooklyn is booming and The Brooklyn A Hotel is inspired by the borough’s revitalization into one of New York City’s fastest growing destinations,” said Ben Seidel, President and CEO of RHG. “We’re excited to showcase the unique culture, artistry and pulse of Brooklyn throughout the hotel and are confident it will be a great addition to this neighborhood on the rise.”

The Brooklyn A Hotel is inspired by the borough it’s in, blending textures, colors and artwork that celebrates Brooklyn and creates a sense of place for guests. Espacios Design Studio, an independent firm located in nearby Long Island City, imbued the industrial space on Atlantic Avenue with an elegant yet edgy aesthetic. Ceilings are nine to 15 feet tall, and complemented by exposed brick walls. The lobby has cobblestone floors, original wood columns and designer Gabriel Scott’s Kelly chandelier, a statement piece composed of asymmetrical metallic blades and glittering silver chains.

The lobby’s coffee service brews La Colombe beans. Those seeking headier libations can head to the lobby bar, outfitted in Colombian walnut wood with green sustainable velvet-like upholstered furniture, a communal table made from black basalt stone and porcelain hexagonal tiles by Settecento adorning the walls.

All 34 guestrooms and suites are spacious, ranging in 160 to 420 square feet. They have complimentary Wi-Fi, Nespresso machines, LG flat screen Smart televisions, and fluffy, Simmons Euro-top beds with 300-thread-count linens. The oversized bathrooms have white Porcelanosa tiles and gray recycled porcelain tiles from Piemmegres, rain showers and L’Occitane bath amenities. Bathrooms are also outfitted with custom-made one-piece Corian® countertops with integrated sinks, and custom accent tiles from Brooklyn’s Lazer Marble.

To celebrate the hotel’s location throughout the accommodations, Espacios Design Studio commissioned photographs of the borough from Brooklyn-based printer Brian Merlis. The images span historic shots of the Brooklyn Bridge as well as contemporary streetscapes and landmarks. Each photo is accompanied by an understated, gallery-style placard identifying the subject and explaining its significance to Brooklyn.

The Brooklyn A Hotel will also have a restaurant serving seasonal, American fare, plus an elegant rooftop bar. Both are scheduled to open in early 2016. The hotel has a 100-person meeting and event space that will be available from mid-November on. There is also an onsite market and fitness center.

The hotel’s location includes easy access to the Barclays Center, Prospect Park, and the vibrant cafes, bars, restaurants and galleries in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights. It is also within walking distance to the New York City MTA Subway’s A express train and the Long Island Railroad.
