BROOKLYN, (July 8, 2015) – Real Hospitality Group (RHG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Melinda Park as General Manager of the new The Brooklyn a Hotel, set to open August 2015. A veteran of the hospitality industry, Park will be responsible for collaborating with the General Contractor and Project Manager on all aspects of the hotel’s pre-opening stages of development as well as day-to-day operations post-opening.

Park joins the hotel with 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry including conference centers, hotels and consulting. Prior to joining The Brooklyn a Hotel, Park most recently served as the Project Manager for ARAMARK Conference Centers, where she spent the majority of her hospitality career. Park’s first hospitality job was with ARAMARK at the JP Morgan Lincoln Square in New York as the Rooms Manager in 2000. She then spent two years at PKF Consulting as a Hospitality Consultant/Analyst before going back to ARAMARK. While at ARAMARK, Park held director and manager positions at various hotels and conference centers including the Steinberg Conference Center in Philadelphia, John Hancock Hotel and Conference Center in Boston, Desmond Tutu Center in New York where she led the opening team, as well as several others. Park also has extensive experience in sales, marketing and revenue management.

The Brooklyn a Hotel, located between the up-and-coming Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhoods, was inspired by Brooklyn’s revitalization and evolution into one of New York City’s most interesting and fastest growing destinations. Developed by Espacio Design, the hotel’s stunning design will blend texture, color and artwork that honors this Brooklyn pride theme and offers a sense of place. The hotel’s 34 spacious rooms will offer a neutral palette and incorporate Brooklyn’s neighborhoods into art that tells a rich story, blending elements of modern luxury with natural elements of brick, reclaimed wood and other carefully selected textures. The hotel will offer complimentary Wi-Fi throughout as well as social seating areas, complimentary continental breakfast, La Colombe coffee service in the lobby throughout the day and evening, an onsite market, fitness center and meeting space for up to 100 guests.

“We are thrilled to have Melinda heading up the operations for The Brooklyn a Hotel,” said John Parker, Chief Operating Officer of Real Hospitality Group, the hotel’s management company. “Melinda’s extensive hotel and conference center management experience as well as her leadership in sales and marketing make her an excellent fit for this position and we know she will guide the property to a successful opening.”
