Big year ahead for Florida; Bangkok leads as the most affordable international destination

NORWALK, Conn., Dec. 14, 2015 — With the New Year quickly approaching, priceline.com, a leader in online and mobile travel and part of The Priceline Group (NASDAQ: PCLN), analyzed hotel bookings for 2016 to forecast where travelers will be heading. Once again, the number one spot on priceline.com's list of top destinations for 2016 goes to Las Vegas, NV, and overall, Florida is the most popular state with multiple warm-weather cities on the list, including Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. While many travelers will be heading stateside to Florida beaches, others will be heading internationally to Asia in 2016, including Bangkok and Singapore.

"Within the U.S., Las Vegas and other big cities like New York City, Miami and San Francisco remain top favorites; however, we're also seeing the resurgence of interest in traditional Florida destinations, such as Sarasota and Cocoa Beach – both of which have favorable average daily rates under $125 per night on priceline.com," said priceline.com travel editor Brian Ek. "International draws include favorites such as Cancun and Costa Rica in Latin America and newcomers such as Bangkok and Sydney in the southeastern part of the world."
