• GBI AG builds NOVUM Style Hotel with 352 rooms
  • A new hotel of the NOVUM Hotel Group’s own brand to be introduced to the German hotel market
  • Opening planned for 2019

Hamburg/Berlin/Frankfurt, 8 December 2016 – Frankfurt am Main is in pole position: Increasingly more banks, financial institutions and Fintechs want to be part of the thriving metropolis at the Main river. By erecting yet another new hotel the NOVUM Hotel Group will meet this strongly growing demand. A hotel of the NOVUM Style Hotel brand with 352 rooms will be erected in the vicinity of the central exhibition grounds, in cooperation with the largest hotel project developer in German cities, the GBI AG, who has sold resp. set up projects of above 1.0 billion Euros.

‘By looking ahead into the near future and considering our plans to continuously develop our own brand of NOVUM Style Hotels we are more than pleased to have taken on board a reliable partner with a strong and renowned reputation,’ says David Etmenan, managing partner of the NOVUM Group. ‘GBI AG will most certainly enhance future projects of our hotel group.’

The hotel market in Frankfurt is considered to be strong and continuously growing: The number of overnight stays rose by nearly eight percent in 2015, reflecting a record level for the sixth year running. The leading international fairs are the main events attracting the most guests. Etmenan is convinced that this new location will further the successful history of the NOVUM Hotel Group.

‘The location at the Rebstockpark is an ideal position for our contemporary and state-of-the-art Novum Style Hotel as this district is considered to be the gateway to the heavily frequented Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds,’ summarises David Etmenan. The strongly expanding hotel group already operates three hotels in Frankfurt am Main. Two more hotels are currently developed at a sought-after location in the vicinity of concert and conference venue the Alte Oper.

GBI AG is well experienced in developing hotels in Frankfurt am Main. Amongst others there are two mixed-use projects in the ‘Europaviertel’ in the Main metropolis being developed at present whereby several hotel brands of different nature are combined with student apartments and a day care centre for children. ‘Frankfurt’s potential of being the host to such an impressive number of financial institutes and trade fairs is going from strength to strength. The Brexit also contributed to this positive market development,’ according to Reiner Nittka, GBI AG board spokesman. Clemens Jung, authorised signatory and the company’s leading project manager: ‘We are very happy about the fact that we were able to acquire and set up this well established location with its excellent traffic connections in combination with the strong and creative brand of the NOVUM Group.’

The Hamburg NOVUM Hotel Group has by now been expanding throughout Europe for years. The number of hotels (operating or being developed) has increased to a remarkable 111 with altogether 11,750 rooms. Apart from their four own brands (NOVUM Hotels, NOVUM Style Hotels, NOVUM Select Hotels and NOVUM LikeApart Hotels) they operate or newly develop other hotel brands of renowned franchise partners such as AccorHotels and InterContinental Hotels Group.
