KATY, TX (August 6, 2014) - Named the "Energy Capital of the World" due to its strongly established, and consistently viable oil and gas market, Houston continues to see increased demand for rooms, especially within the extended stay segment. Many regions of the city - including Katy - have seen occupancy figures rise to pre-recession levels or above this year, and the hotel and lodging outlook for the market as a whole is highly positive.

This growing demand has been driven primarily by the thriving oil and gas market, but also by healthcare and shipping, and while supply increases have been consistent at around 1% year-on-year, the growing occupancy rates are attracting higher levels of development. Among these is the Homewood Suites by Hilton, in Katy, TX, to be built and managed by NewcrestImage, and slated for opening in winter 2015.

The upscale property will be located at 25495 Katy Mills Parkway near the Katy Mills Mall, and boast 121 all-suite rooms, catering to the extended-stay market. "Every Homewood Suites hotel is designed to offer home-like comforts and quality bundled services that allow travelers to stay productive when on the road," said Bill Duncan, global head, Homewood Suites by Hilton. This property certainly lives up to that statement, with every suite offering a fully-equipped kitchen, separate sleeping and living spaces, and complementary internet among a range of amenities and services, all designed at making travelers' lives on the road easier and more pleasurable.

With a high level of accessibility, and myriad benefits offered by the concept's extensive partnership, the hotel will offer visitors to Katy an exclusive home away from home, and one which will allow them to maximize their travel budget without compromising on the quality, comfort, or convenience of their stay.

"This is our first property in Houston, TX, and it's one we're very excited about," said Mehul Patel, Chairman & CEO at NewcrestImage. "We look forward to diversifying our portfolio and forging a strong relationship within this thriving city."
