Los Angeles - JANUARY 7, 2014 - Personality Hotels has equipped its Hotel Diva and Hotel Union Square boutique properties in San Francisco with Mobile Key by OpenWays to expand on its strategy to offer an inventive urban experience with all the comforts of home. Mobile Key is now LIVE and enabling guests to optionally skip the traditional check-in process by opening their room doors using any of the 6.5 billion cell phones in the world - any make, any mobile network.
"Our customers demand high levels of service, and they want something a bit different when they stay with us," said Yvonne Lembi-Detert, Personality Hotels President and CEO. "Mobile Key by OpenWays is offering our tech-savvy guests the option to arrive at our hotels and experience something special. We want our guests to say 'wow' from the moment they choose to stay with us to long after their departure.
"It is important for us to engage and build each customer relationship, and we know our customers will love the convenience of using their personal mobile device as the most advanced, secure form of electronic key," she said.
OpenWays is a global solutions provider of mobile-based access-management and security solutions. Mobile Key by OpenWays streamlines guests' access to their hotel rooms by using the principle of Crypto Acoustic Credential (CAC™) to deliver an encrypted and secure mobile key credential. From the moment a reservation is made, guests at the Hotel Diva and Hotel Union Square have the option to sign up for Mobile Key by OpenWays. The day of arrival, guests receive details of their room number on the Personality Hotels smartphone app or by SMS text message, as well as mobile offers and incentives from the hotel. This not only increases guest satisfaction, but it boosts onsite spending as well.
"With the help of our strategic partner RoamingAround, guests of Hotel Diva and Hotel Union Square are now experiencing boutique hospitality with a new mobile feel," said Michael Cohen, OpenWays SVP sales Americas. "They already expect to experience something different and elegant from the Personality brand, and Mobile Key delivers. Mobile Key drives the mobile hospitality strategy and brings even more 'personality' to their properties, speaking volumes for brand differentiation, customer satisfaction and building positive onsite revenues. We thank Personality Hotels for recognizing Mobile Key as an impactful and innovative mobile guest amenity option."
Michael Garvin, President of RoamingAround, said adding Mobile Key to Personality Hotels' mobile strategy extends their ability to provide innovation, convenience and connectivity with guests by interacting with them on the devices they use the most - their personal mobile phones.
"Personality Hotels is known for engaging and building lasting customer relationships," Garvin said. "One reason they are so successful with guest retention and loyalty is because they truly understand what is important to their guests. With guests using the Mobile Key solution multiple times during the course of their stay, it keeps mobile interaction with the hotel at the front of their minds, and revenue-generating guest amenities at their fingertips."
In addition to hotels in the U.S., Mobile Key by OpenWays is deployed around the world, including Belgium, France, Australia, Hong Kong and Thailand.
