Los Cabos, Mexico (April 9, 2015) – After extensive repair and renovation, Marquis Los Cabos Resort & Spa, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, has reopened its doors under the management of Hoteles Marquis. Located near the tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, the redefined Marquis Los Cabos boasts 235 ocean front rooms, each with stunning views of the Sea of Cortés; upgraded in-room amenities; newly whitewashed exterior and signature Marquis guest services that elevate the all-inclusive, all-suite, adults-only resort to an extraordinary level of destination hospitality.

“We are committed to providing a memorable first-class experience here at Marquis Los Cabos and are pleased to re-introduce the enhanced property to our guests, both new and returning,” said Alma Lopez, Corporate Director of Sales. “As the first resort to reopen on the Transpeninsular highway following Hurricane Odile, Marquis is now a dream combination of gorgeous setting, pristine accommodations and superb amenities and service.”

Guests are visually inspired upon stepping foot in the open-air lobby, complete with a serene, 40-foot cascading waterfall and picturesque views of the magnificent sea. Paying homage to the destination, sculptures and original works of art by Latin American artists are on display in the lobby and throughout the resort providing a true sense of place. With three pools, two of which are infinity-edge, the views never cease to amaze hotel guests.

Marquis Los Cabos’ spacious, residential-style accommodations fuse effortless luxury with romance and authentic Mexican flair. All 235 suites across five categories – 203 Deluxe Suites, 26 One-Bedroom Casitas, five Master Suites with private plunge pool and a two-bedroom Presidential Suite – have been fully revamped with new beds, linens, minibars, L’Occitane bath amenities, hydro-massage tubs and furnished outdoor terraces. Suites range in size from 650 sq. feet to 2,600 sq. feet approximately.

Leading the Marquis Los Cabos culinary team is Executive Chef Thierry Dufour, a French-born Master Chef who oversees the menus at the resort’s signature Canto Del Mar and three specialty restaurants, the renovated and newly redecorated Vista Ballenas, Dos Mares and Asian-fusion Sakke restaurant. Vista Ballenas, the resort’s main buffet-style dining room serves traditional breakfast offerings, regionally inspired Mexican ceviches for lunch and Italian-themed dinners. Dos Mares, open for lunch and dinner, exudes an authentic beachfront vibe with its coastal cuisine and ocean views. Canto Del Mar, the resort’s signature fine dining restaurant, is open exclusively for dinner and features a prix-fixe menu conceptualized by Executive Chef Thierry. Guests can also dine at El Suspiro Lounge & Outside Bar, updated with a dance floor and lounge seating for an engaging yet casual scene.

Upgraded culinary experiences range from the re-installation of the signature Marquis Wake Up – each morning’s in-suite delivery of fresh coffee and sweet rolls – to the several-times-daily hand-passed trays of local treats such as churros, pastries or corn-on-the-cob throughout the pool common areas.

Rounding out the resort-wide enhancements are a newly built, romantic seaside Gazebo perfect for saying “I Do,” and a partnership with Natura Bissé, the award-winning, Barcelona-based luxury skincare brand for an exclusive menu of signature treatments including the Marquis Los Cabos Rose Treatment, at the 15,000 square foot Marquis Spa.

In addition, Marquis Los Cabos offers guests a well-curated array of activities and entertainment, ensuring that each guest has full access to a world-class experience. Highlights include a full fitness center, three pools nightly shows and live music, weekly themed parties, movies under the stars, Ping-Pong, wine pairings, tequila tasting, dance lessons, cooking classes, scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and even camel rides through the desert.
