TAMPA, Fla. (December 2, 2015) – Mainsail Lodging & Development has promoted Tom Haines and Brandon Marshall to regional director of operations and corporate director of sales, respectively. Both Haines and Marshall are managers of Mainsail’s successful Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, Florida. A Tampa-based hospitality company, Mainsail Lodging & Development develops and operates lodging products in the Southeastern United States and the Caribbean.

As regional director of operations, Tom Haines will expand on his role as general manager of the Epicurean Hotel. His new responsibilities will include support for the October 2016 opening of the Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club in Anna Maria Island, Florida, and promoting overall growth of Mainsail.

“Since joining the company three years ago, Tom has led the Epicurean Hotel team to set year over year records, while achieving international acclaim and glowing reviews,” said Joe Collier, Mainsail Lodging & Development president. “We’re thrilled to have him take on this larger leadership position and do the same for Mainsail Lodging.”

Brandon Marshall has also been with Epicurean Hotel since before its inception and will now transition from director of sales of the hotel to corporate director of sales for Mainsail Lodging & Development. In his new role, Marshall will oversee sales and revenue management operations for the Epicurean Hotel and Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina – Mainsail’s private-island resort in the British Virgin Islands – while also assisting in the successful opening of Waterline.

“As corporate director of sales, we plan to make the most of the strengths Brandon has showcased during his time at Epicurean Hotel for the benefit of the whole corporation,” said Norwood Smith, Mainsail Lodging & Development vice-president of sales and marketing. “These strengths include strategic business development, revenue management and maximizing Marriott sales channels, which is beneficial for our properties that are part of the Autograph Collection Hotels® portfolio.”

With more than 30 years in the industry, Haines came to the Epicurean Hotel after a nine-year career at Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando where he held a number of positions, including Executive assistant manager, director of food and beverage and director of conference management. During his career, Haines has won several awards, including Food and Beverage Team of the Year for Loews Hotel Corporation and Catering and Convention Services Director of the Year for Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

A 15-year veteran of the industry, Marshall came to Epicurean Hotel from Marriott where he worked as a sales executive and managed more than 1,100 corporate accounts in the Tampa Bay market. He also won several awards, including the two Loyal E Horton Awards for standard catering menu and Marriott Sales Star Award for the Southeast in 2012.
