Madrid, August 28, 2013 - Occidental Hotels & Resorts is proud to announce the appointment of Lorenzo Chan as the General Manager of the original adults-only all-inclusive luxury resort Royal Hideaway Playacar, located in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Mr. Chan has been a valued member of the Occidental Hotels & Resorts team for the past 11 years, previously managing a variety of esteemed properties throughout Mexico.

A seasoned hospitality professional, Mr. Chan worked with The Royal Resorts Group for ten years before joining Occidental Hotels & Resorts in 2002. During his time with the brand, he has served as the Executive Assistant Manager for Occidental Grand Xcaret and was most recently overseeing Occidental Allegro Playacar as the property's General Manager.

"Throughout his tenure at Occidental, Lorenzo has been selflessly dedicated to achieving complete satisfaction for our guests, delivering a 'Perfect Day', which has in turn supported the brand's demanding business objectives," remarked Jaime Buxó, Managing Director Occidental Hotels & Resorts. Commending Chan for his leadership, Mr. Buxó went on to say "I am confident Lorenzo will continue to exceed the expectations of our valued clientele, as our loyal guests return time and time again to live the Royal Hideaway experience."

Royal Hideaway Playacar is a proud member of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World and is consistently ranked among the top resorts in Mexico due in large part to its commitment to excellent service and its best in class luxury amenities.
