April 29–LENWOOD — Ayres Hotels is expected to formally announce the acquisition of Country Inn and Suites in Lenwood on Tuesday, despite already changing all the signage on the property.

The signs on the property reading Country Inn and Suites on Thursday were changed to read Ayres Hotel.

Guest Loyalty & Marketing Manager Shanna Davis confirmed the acquisition of the hotel, located at 2812 Lenwood Road, but said a press release was not scheduled to be released until Tuesday.

Ayres Hotels has been in the hospitality business since 1984 and the Lenwood location is now the 22nd in the company's portfolio, Davis said. Details of the acquisition were not available as Davis stressed Ayres Hotels is a private company.

"We are the only family owned and operated hotel collection in California and the Ayres family has a 115-plus year history in the Southern California area," Davis said.

According to the company's website, Ayres Hotels owns and operates a collection of custom boutique-style hotels in "prime" Southern California locations.

"The Ayres family has been a leader in the California residential and commercial real estate industry for more than a century," the website reads.

The 92-room hotel will be renovated to "more closely resemble a typical Ayres Hotel," Davis said. The renovations are scheduled in phases and Davis did not have an estimated completion timeframe.

As for pricing, Davis said the company practices "open pricing" but that the rates will remain close to the rates of the Country Inn and Suites.

Davis said the Lenwood location was purchased because the company saw this an opportunity to expand on the Ontario locations, but also as a "natural progression for our operating and expansion models."

"It also serves as a step toward solidifying Ayres brand recognition in the Southern California area," she said. "It has fantastic freeway visibility and the high number of tourists was a huge draw as well."
