BIRMINGHAM, AL, April 13, 2016 – HP Hotels announced today that Kerry Ranson has joined the company as Chief Development Officer. Mike Hines, HP Hotels’ Chairman and CEO, made the announcement.

In this newly created position Kerry will leverage his extensive industry experience as well as the relationships he has cultivated over his over 23 years in the hotel industry to further the growth of HP Hotels’ portfolio of managed properties nationwide.

Kerry returns to the company he helped to found in 2002. In 2007, Kerry and his wife gave birth to triplet daughters. Recognizing the need to be closer to home to care for his family, Kerry accepted an opportunity in 2010 to join Expotel Hospitality Services as a partner. He has since served as the company’s President & Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to the formation of HP Hotels, Kerry was an area director for IHG, where he drove both occupancy and ADR by implementing structured revenue management systems at each of his 20-plus properties. He is also the outgoing Chairman of the Board for the IHG Owners Association.

“Kerry was an integral part of the HP Hotels team when we formed the organization and we are thrilled to welcome him back,” said Hines. “He is a consummate professional; very well-liked and greatly respected throughout the industry. The fact that he served as chairman of the IHG Owners Association last year drives this point home. We are extremely optimistic about where our organization is headed and know that Kerry will be able to put his ‘HP heritage’ to work as we bridge our past successes to future positive growth.”

In commenting on his return to the organization, Kerry seconded that notion. “I take pride in the fact that I helped put HP Hotels on the map and I am thrilled to be returning. A lot of great things have happened over the last six years for Mike and his team here as well for myself. I look forward to leveraging those mutual successes and picking up the baton to propel our organization to new heights as an industry leader.”
