SAVANNAH, Ga. (November 21, 2017) – Hyatt Regency Savannah announces the appointment of Alison Houston as Executive Chef. In this role, Chef Houston will oversee all of the iconic hotel’s culinary operations, which includes 33,000 square feet of banquet space and the newly opened Moss + Oak Savannah Eatery, Bar and Market.

Chef Houston began her career with Hyatt at Hyatt Regency Austin where she took an opportunity as an entry level Line Cook. Over the last 9 years, her career has taken a path across the United States from Hawaii to Georgia. She has worked in the kitchens of Hyatt Regency Lost Pines, Hyatt Regency Chicago, assisting with the introduction of new restaurants and lobby and Hyatt Regency Santa Clara. Most recently, Chef Houston served as the Executive Sous Chef of Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, where she had an opportunity to work during the 2016 Presidential Inauguration. “I look forward to merging the regional flavors of Savannah with the food style and techniques that I have learned over my years of traveling with Hyatt,” said Chef Houston.

Alison was born and raised in Northern California where she grew up cooking at home with her mother and grandmother. After working in the kitchen of several restaurants, her passion for great food and wine inspired her to attend Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy in Austin, TX, where she graduated with honors. When Alison is not in the kitchen, or seeking out the next best thing to eat, she is enjoying the outdoors with her family, cycling, hiking or kayaking.
